"You and I haven't talked" the Elder said, "can you tell me a few things about yourself?"

"What can I say" I replied " you know what you see in me. I don't have anything more to say about me. I'm just me."

"How simply you say that" the Elder said with a smile.

"It wasn't always that simple," I said. "there were years upon years I had an image of my 'self' but for the past eight years I have been in the 'medicine lodge' with three years apprenticeship in the 'circle'. I don't know what I am, I don't know who I am, but I know that I am.
